An actor who won two Emmys for his role as a police captain in a celebrated 1980s cop show will be on the other side of the law when he guests on CBS’s "Criminal Minds" this season as a serial killer, reports TV Guide.
Daniel J. Travanti, who was nominated for five Emmys and won two for his role as Capt. Frank Furillo on NBC’s "Hill Street Blues," has been cast in “Criminal Minds” as "the butcher." The character led a killing spree 20 years ago and currently suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and cannot remember his past–but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to kill again.
"Criminal Minds" returns for the fall season on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 9 p.m. ET, with Travanti’s episode scheduled to be broadcast in October.
