Jennifer Aniston Fires Back at Bill O’Reilly

Aug 13, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Actress Jennifer Aniston, whose remarks were said by Bill O’Reilly to be "destructive to society," has fired back at the outspoken political and cultural commentator.

Aniston, 41, recently said that "Women are realizing it more and more knowing that they don’t have to settle with a man just to have that child. Times have changed and that is also what is amazing is that we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents’ days when you can’t have children because you have waited too long."

Here’s Aniston’s response, which she made to People.com: ""Of course, the ideal scenario for parenting is obviously two parents of a mature age. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs on earth. And, of course, many women dream of finding Prince Charming (with fatherly instincts), but for those who’ve not yet found their Bill O’Reilly, I’m just glad science has provided a few other options."

  1. Bill O’Reilly as Prince Charming with fatherly instincts…
    Hee Larious!

  2. I agree with Aniston. I do not have children and myself do not want any, but women do not need a man to have a child. Women can be good mothers without having a husband or significant others. Yes children need a male influence in there lives but he does not have to be in a relationship with the mother. The male role model can be a family member of the mothers or even a good family friend. Do you realize how many women are rasing children on their own because the “father” won’t step up to the plate.

  3. I think Jennifer’s reply was very classy and with a tinge of sarcasm. However, O’Reilly was doing a similar thing Vice President Dan Quayle criticized Murphy Brown for glorifying single parenthood. Neither attacked women who are divorced or to whom the father abandoned them. There are just way too many children that think they can get a guy by getting pregnant or think that having a baby will give them unconditional love. Jennifer remarked that the parents should be of mature age and I agree with that. But being a single parent (unless you are supported by the government or are very wealthy) is a detriment to the child who doesn’t get the love and attention they deserve. Kudos to those who, through no fault of their own, have to raise children by themselves, but let’s not endorse it as a cause just because a biological clock or a teenage crush thinks it’s the right thing to do. It is extremely selfish and doesn’t take in the consequences.

  4. Thank you, Tom. I think people like Misty don’t realize the damage that’s already been done to our society through the elimination of fathers in the family unit. If the father disappears for whatever reason, that’s different. But just to have a baby because you think you deserve one is assinine and self-centered, two traits you will find unhelpful in parenting.

  5. America, like Rome, is fading because we seek wisdom from hammerhead actresses like Jennifer.

  6. …or from hammerhead commentators like O’Reilly.

  7. “Detrimental to society”
Wow! I never thought I’d hear Bill O’Reilly defend socialism?
FWIW, the fading of Rome was not due to a decline in social mores… that was only a symptom.
Political corruption (the lust for power) was the root cause of the fall of Rome… and pretty much every other political system down through history. Those who think they can get away with anything usually try to do so.

  8. She’s promoting a movie, people! And guess what? It’s working! In the movie, she plays a woman who has a baby by using a sperm donor.
    Duh…

  9. A very classy response from Aniston. Especially considering the lack of class by O’Reilly, only digging this up to keep his name in front of the public. Her origianl statement got little coverage until he decided to use it to build his profile by tying into a popular icon.
