Sitcom Writer Bernie West Dies

Comedy writer Bernie West, who wrote scripts for "All in the Family," "The Jeffersons," "Three’s Company" and other shows, died last Thursday after battling Alzheimer’s disease, The New York Times reported.

He died in Beverly Hills at the age of 92. Before becoming a sitcom writer, West was a stand-up comic. He was an Emmy Award winner for an episode of "All In the Family" called "The Bunkers and the Swingers."
