Will Mary Hart End her Three-Decade Reign on ‘Entertainment Tonight’ as Contract Comes Up?

Mary Hart has been the host of "Entertainment Tonight" for nearly three decades — since 1982 — but there’s speculation her reign might be over as her contract comes up this year, reports the New York Post’s Page Six.

The job may go to Lara Spencer, the anchor of the syndicated program "The Insider," the story says.

Spencer reportedly is eager to have the job, the article says.

"There are no plans to make host changes to ‘Entertainment Tonight,’ " Lisa Summers Haas, a spokeswoman for both "ET" and "The Insider," told  Page Six.

  1. You wonder why people push themselves to botox. Really Mary Hart is ET she is loved by all the stars. If she is ready to go that is one thing but pushing her out is crazy. I don’t watch insider because of Lara Spencer she looks like a waxed doll that can’t smile.

  2. For those of us who stopped watching this celeb-worshiping dreck years ago, we ask the proverbial question, “Mary Hart is still on this show.” Actually I stopped watching the night Gregory Peck died. They briefly teased his death at the top pf the show but the lead non-story was about some minor celeb doing nothing special. The death of an acting legend should have been the lead.
