Will U.S. Version of ‘The X Factor’ Include Fake Singing Like U.K. Version?

After it was revealed that the British version of "The X Factor" uses auto-tuning — an audio processor that disguises off-pitch singing — Nikki Finke at Deadline.com asks whether the U.S. version of the show will employ similar tactics.

Fans of the program in the U.K. weren’t happy to learn that the show used the program to polish some performances, according to BBC.com.  The issue came to light with the show’s season debut on Saturday, when an 18-year contestant’s performance was changed through use of the program.

According to the article, "The use of Auto-Tune is a hot button issue in the music industry with both JayZ and Christina Aguilera protesting its prevalence."
