ABC was the top-rated network Monday night, led by a strong turnout for “Dancing With the Stars,” according to TVbytheNumbers.com.

At 8 p.m. the first hour of "Dancing" averaged a 3.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic, while CBS’s "How I Met Your Mother" and "Rules of Engagement" collected a 3.2 rating and a 2.9, respectively, in the same demographic. NBC’s "Chuck" was steady with a 1.9 rating in the 18-49 demo for the hour, and CW’s "90210" earned a 1.0.

The 9 p.m. hour was dominated by "Dancing," which had a 4.3 and a 4.6 in the 18-49 demo for the top and bottom halves of the hour. CBS’s "Two and a Half Men" and "Mike & Molly" had a 4.3 rating and a 3.6, respectively, in the 18-49 demographic. NBC’s "The Event" had a 1.95 average rating in 18-49 for the hour, and Fox’s "Lie to Me" netted a mean score of 1.95. "Gossip Girl" on the CW had a 1.0 in the 18-49 demographic.

ABC’s "Castle" had the best numbers at 10 p.m., but its results are likely to be downgraded after the "Dancing With the Stars" overrun is figured in. For the time being, "Castle" is ahead of CBS’s "Hawaii Five-0" with an average of 3.0 for the former in the 18-49 demo to the latter’s 2.8. NBC’s "Chase" trailed with a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demo for the hour.

  1. Sarah Palin will win because all the Tea Party mmembers will vote for her! A stacked deck

  2. Like American Idol… it’s all rigged to keep viewers watching. None of the voting matters! Don’t be naive.
