Patton Oswalt, who ended his run playing Spence Olchin on "King of Queens" three years ago, may find his way back to network television with a comedy project in development at Fox, reports our good friend and former TVWeek.com editor Joe Adalian in New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.
Oswalt is teaming with Scott Aukerman, a former "Mr. Show" writer, to write and executive produce a comedy series about a man (played by Oswalt) who re-enters the dating world after his 20-year marriage breaks down, the story notes.
The project is being produced by 20th Century Fox TV and American Work’s Scot Armstrong and Ravi Nandan, the article says. Oswalt had been hired and then un-hired earlier this year for the failed comedy pilot "Beach Lane."
Patton is a good comic actor, but may be better suited to supporting characters than a lead.
