Mariah Carey May Be a Judge on Major Upcoming Music Reality Series

Oct 25, 2010  •  Post A Comment

Mariah Carey may become a judge on a major upcoming music series, reports the New York Post, citing a report in the London newspaper News of the World, which is behind a pay-wall. Both the News of the World and the New York Post are owned by News Corp.

The program in question is Simon Cowell’s U.S. Version of  "the X Factor." While Cowell, who will also be a judge on the program, reportedly has wanted British singer Cheryl Cole to serve as a judge on the Fox show, the network is concerned that Cole is almost unknown in the U.S., the story says.

""Look, I’ve said I’d love Cheryl out there but whether it will happen, who knows?" Cowell told the News of the World, the Post story says. Cowell added, "Mariah Carey would be an amazing addition to the US show."

  1. Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson were almost unknown in the U.S. when American Idol began. Why not let us meet Cheryl Cole. I have seen Mariah Carey. I would be less likley to watch if she is on.
