NBC has picked up a mob-oriented comedy from a TV and film veteran who has a best actor Oscar in his resume, Deadline.com reports.
The project is "Tommy’s Little Girl," which Jamie Foxx has been shopping for some time. Foxx, who received an Academy Award in 2005 for “Ray,” took the initiative to film a sample of the project and then brought it to the networks. The trailer stars Selma Blair, Tony Sirico and Paul Sorvino.
In addition to saying yes to Foxx, NBC also gave a go-ahead to "Life Is Good," a comedy from the writers of "Unhitched" and "Hangover 2." In "Life," a happy father of two discovers a third child, a 19-year-old son he never knew he had.
