Charlie Sheen is downplaying the incident early Tuesday in New York’s Plaza Hotel that landed him in a hospital and got the gossip mill swirling, RadarOnline.com reports.

The publication snagged an exclusive text message interview with the star, who told RadarOnline, “The story is totally overblown and overplayed as far as the reality of the scenario.”

Sheen reportedly underwent a psychiatric evaluation at New York Presbyterian Hospital after what has been described as a cocaine and alcohol binge with a prostitute in the hotel. He was later released and made his way back home to L.A., where he is expected back on the set of “Two and a Half Men” next week.

Asked by RadarOnline about his condition, Sheen reportedly said, “Oh, my man, I’m fine.”

However, Sheen refused to provide details, saying, “I know what went down and that’s where it will stay … under wraps.”
