PBS said that Los Angeles-area viewers will still be able to watch "Masterpiece" on Sunday evenings, after KCET-TV said it’ll leave the PBS system on Jan. 1, 2011, and also pushed "Masterpiece" to Thursdays to air a Sunday movie night, reports the Los Angeles Times’ ShowTracker blog.

Orange County-based KOCE-TV will pick up Sunday broadcasts of "Masterpiece" starting this weekend with the debut of the well-received "Sherlock," the story notes. The series is a British update of the classic Arthur Conan Doyle mysteries featuring the enigmatic and brilliant Sherlock Holmes.

  1. Would be nice if KOCE updated its guide data so DVR’s might actually know this.

  2. KOCE sent out the notification yesterday, and you should see an update in your cable system by this weekend. Hope that helps!

  3. Will KOCE have the “News Hour” with Jim Leher?
