The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that it has picked two co-hosts for the 83rd Academy Awards, scheduled to be broadcast Feb. 27.

The hosts will be hot young stars Anne Hathaway and James Franco, E! Online reports.

Hathaway is currently starring in “Love and Other Drugs” with Jake Gyllenhaal. She is an Oscar nominee for best actress in “Rachel Getting Married.”

Franco is expected to receive a nomination this year for “127 Hours,” the story says. He recently released a book of short stories titled “Palo Alto.”

  1. Bad, bad choice. What was the Academy thinking? These two youngsters are not comics who are capable of weaving trends in the arts and news together to make for an interesting night. This is the kiss of death for the event, now a non-event.

  2. Marianne, I completely agree. Talented actors do not necessarily make for engaging hosts of the show.

  3. High quality info here! Keep up the great work. I love the feelings being expressed.
