This is pretty wild–a TV show that has become part of the popular lexicon over the past 20 years is entering broadcast syndication for the first time ever.

Law & Order" has been sold by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution to TV stations for weekend syndication, with sales to station groups representing more than 80% of the U.S., reports TVNewsCheck.com.

The sale marks the first time the drama will be available in broadcast syndication, the story notes. The stations, including those owned by Fox, CBS, Cox, Gannett, Hearst and Sunbeam, will air the program in fall 2011, the article adds. The stations include WNYW-WWOR-TV in New York to KTTV-KCOP-TV in Los Angeles.
