Hugh Jackman, who hosted the Academy Awards two years ago, has been asked again to host the presentation reports Deadline.com’s Mike Fleming.

Jackson has said sorry, but he must send his regrets and cannot host the show cominig up in early 2011. The reason?

Jackman is busy preparing for the sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which should begin shooting in late February or early March, while the Oscars are scheduled for Feb. 27th, the story notes.

Last year’s Oscar host selection was the returning Steve Martin sharing the stage with Alec Baldwin. Whoever is picked for the job, the announcement should come soon, the story points out, as last year the host was announced on Nov. 3.

The Oscar telecast, on ABC is one of the year’s premiere TV broadcasts.
