HBO is in discussions with one of the former stars of “Seinfeld” for a possible return to series television in the political sitcom “Veep,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus would star as the U.S. vice president, the story says.

"Veep," which is being penned by Scottish scriptwriter Armando Ianucci and Simon Blackwell, follows the experiences of a U.S. senator who becomes the nation’s vice president.

In a statement from HBO, the lead character learns that being VP is "nothing like she expected and everything everyone ever warned about."

Louis-Dreyfus ended her run on CBS’s "The New Adventures of Old Christine" last year.

  1. This will be interesting. She will need to play an entirley different character than the one she perfected through Seinfeld and Christine. No one would believe that someone as ditsy and challenged by life could be a VP.

You’ve just described our current VP. And no, I can’t believe it either.

  3. That’s what we would have had if the Republicans won in ’08.
