An actress who has been nominated for three Oscars and two Emmys is joining the already star-studded cast of an upcoming HBO drama series, Deadline.com reports.

"Luck" will be the first foray into series television for Joan Allen, who received an Emmy nomination this year for her starring role in the Lifetime TV movie “Georgia O’Keeffe.” She also was nominated in 2002 for TNT’s “The Mists of Avalon.”

Allen joins a stellar cast headlined by Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte. The series from David Milch and Michael Mann is centered on the horse racing business.
