MSNBC host Keith Olbermann said he’s taking to heart Jon Stewart’s message at his rally over the weekend against partisanship and anger in cable news. Olbermann said he will suspend his long-running "Worst Persons in the World" segment, reports The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.
"Its satire and whimsy have gradually gotten lost in some anger, so in the spirit of the thing, as of right now, I am unilaterally suspending that segment with an eye towards discontinuing it," Olbermann said.
The "Countdown" host, however, defended his network against Stewart’s comments that suggested MSNBC and Fox News are equally troubling in their approaches, the story says.
Said Olbermann: “Sticking up for the powerless is not the moral equivalent of sticking up for the powerful.”
