Actor and TV host Gary Collins, best known for 1970s series "The Sixth Sense" and "Born Free" and for hosting “Hour Magazine” in the 1980s, was being sought today by Mississippi police in connection with a car accident in Jackson, according to Huffington Post.
Jackson officer Colendula Green said Thursday that Collins had allegedly hit a car on Tuesday at a stoplight, exchanged information with the other driver, but left before the police arrived because he didn’t have time to wait. The other driver has pressed charges against Collins for allegedly leaving the scene, prompting the police search for Collins.
Green said an arrest warrant was being prepared for Collins.
Since 2002, Collins has reportedly been charged with three counts of DUI. But Green said there was no indication Collins had been drinking before the collision Tuesday.
