One over-40 entertainer–WELL over 40–had a career year in 2010, and now she can add another feather to her cap, having been honored as AP’s Entertainer of the Year, the AP reported.

The honoree is 88-year-old actress Betty White, who has been piling up awards and accolades along with strong ratings for her TV Land sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland.”

Members of the Associated Press chose her as the most influential performer in entertainment for 2010. In addition to "Hot In Cleveland," White was recruited to host "Saturday Night Live" following a Facebook campaign, and snagged an Emmy for her appearance.

White bested the cast of "Glee," Conan O’Brien, James Cameron, Jon Stewart and the Apple iPad, among others, for the honor.
