‘Desperate Housewives’ Star Backs Down in $20 Million Suit Against ABC and Show’s Creator

Actress Nicollette Sheridan has decided to withdraw some of the most explosive parts of the lawsuit she brought against ABC and "Desperate Housewives’" creator Marc Cherry, reports Reuters.

In a filing Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Sheridan dropped her claim for intentional infliction of emotional distress and agreed she won’t make a claim for emotional or physical damages.

Sheridan apparently chose to withdraw the meat of the suit so that she would not have to submit to a mental or physical examination.

What remains of the suit, filed in response to her being kicked off the show, is still substantial, including claims of assault and battery, wrongful termination and sex and gender discrimination, according to the report.
