When Showtime’s "Dexter" has its season finale on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 9 p.m. ET, immediately following the broadcast will be a preview of the new William H. Macy comedy "Shameless," Multichannel News reports.

"Shameless" officially premieres on Showtime Jan. 9 at 10 p.m. ET.

"Shameless" is based on a British comedy. In the U.S. version set in Chicago, Macy plays a hard-drinking, working-class father of a bizarre group of kids.
