Showtime is reporting big ratings ratings for its Sunday night lineup, which featured the season premiere of “Californication” and the series premieres of “Shameless” and “Episodes.”

“Californication,” returning for its fourth season, had its best season premiere ever, the network said, with 848,000 viewers for the 9 p.m. telecast and 1.12 million total viewers for the night.

The series premiere of “Shameless” was the pay-cable net’s biggest drama series premiere since “Dead Like Me” seven years ago, Showtime reported, with 982,000 viewers for the 10 p.m. showing and 1.3 million viewers for the night.

“Episodes” debuted at 9:30 p.m., drawing 768,000 viewers for the premiere telecast and retaining 91% of its “Californication” audience, tallying 902,000 total viewers for the night.
