The former governor of Pennsylvania has joined NBC News as a political analyst, the AP reports. A familiar talking head on political shows, Ed Rendell has only been out of office for a few weeks. He will contribute to both NBC and MSNBC with an emphasis on the 2012 presidential race.
Rendell was mayor of Philadelphia from 1992 to 1999, and served as general chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2000 presidential election, the story says. He is expected to start work immediately.
