Ricky Gervais, who has come under criticism for his sometimes mean-spirited jokes during Sunday’s Golden Globe awards, said he won’t be doing the show again, reports the Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

"I’m not doing it again," Gervais said, according to the piece. "I think twice is enough."

This may be news to Gervais, but it’s doubrtful that he’d be asked back anyway.

Phil Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association–the organizaation that runs the Golden Globes–would only say that Gervais had "crossed the line" with his jokes, the story says.

  1. They obviously didn’t want “edgy” when they hired someone famous for being edgy.

  2. Watch for next year’s Globes to be the same boring tripe so that Hollywood celebs don’t have to worry about possibly being “offended” by comments.
Meanwhile, Gervais’ star is, IMHO, riding higher than ever both in the US and abroad for being fearless in his comedy.
