Dan Patrick, the host of "The Dan Patrick Show" on radio and DirecTV, said in an interview with WFAN morning drive radio program “Boomer & Carton” how he managed to get Charlie Sheen to call in twice, reports CBS New York’s CBSlocal.com.
Patrick said that after Charlie Sheen had appeared on his show last year, Sheen said he wanted to come back on the show and gave Patrick his number. At the time, Sheen said, “Next time I come on, I want to have more time to talk,” Patrick said.
"I saw where he went to UCLA to give a pep talk and take some batting practice. And given everything’s he’s gone through, I wasn’t going to call him and say, ‘Hey, what’s up? Haven’t read about you lately!’ But I saw him giving the pep talk at UCLA and I thought, ‘You know what, let’s call him’," Patrick said.
He said his producer called Sheen last Friday and that he responded that he would come on the show "but wanted two segments, not one this time."
Patrick added that he instructed his producer to stay in touch with Sheen over the weekend because, “It’s Charlie Sheen–he could get lost on us.” But Sheen got back in touch with the producer on Monday and indicated he was ready to talk.
