Elisabeth Murdoch will join her brothers, James and Lachlan, on the News Corp. board once her father’s company completes its $673.5 million purchase of her U.K.-based production company, Shine, reports the New York Post.

It marks a return of Elisabeth Murdoch to News Corp. after she left in 2000 and founded Shine in 2001, the story notes. Shine has produced shows such as "The Biggest Loser" and three years ago purchased Reveille, the production company that created "The Office" and "Ugly Betty," adds The New York Times’ DealBook blog.

The Times notes that Elisabeth Murdoch, 42, left Rupert Murdoch’s conglomerate after disagreements with her then boss, Sam Chisholm, and that while James Murdoch is considered the likely next leader of News Corp., it’s unclear whether that will change with Elisabeth’s return.
