Jennifer Aniston turned down a job on "Saturday Night Live" in order to sign on for "Friends," reports the Hollywood Reporter’s Live Feed blog.

Aniston made her remarks on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, the story says.

Adam Sandler, who was also on ‘Oprah" to promote his and Aniston’s movie "Just Go With It", said he wanted her to join ‘SNL," noting, "I remember being on the ninth floor where Lorne Michaels’ office was, and seeing Jen come in. I was like, ‘Oh, my God. There’s Aniston. Is she about to be on our show?’"

Aniston said she turned down the offer because the program was "a boys’ club. They thought I was making a huge mistake." Instead, she signed on for NBC’s "Friends," which she deadpanned, "did alright."
