USA Network has tapped Heather Olander as senior vice president alternative programming, signaling a return to reality programming for the network, which hasn’t had a dedicated reality executive for almost three years, reports Deadline.com.

Olander will report to USA’s president of original programming Jeff Wachtel, the story says.

Olander is moving from CBS Television Distribution, where she served as vice president of programming and development. Before that role, she worked at MTV as vice president of original series development and current programming.

The article notes that USA is already working on the revival of "WWE Tough Enough," its first reality series in five years, and that Wachtel said he hopes to have USA’s first new reality show developed under Olander ready to debut in the fall or early 2012.

  1. I am sending this comment because I am at the end of finishing a professionally done concept package on a new reality show that has never been done before or seen on television. I was hoping that you might be the FIRST to view this package. I am the sole owner of this show and i am looking for the right network to view it. Please don’t let this show pass you by because this is something that America will LOVE and get. the reason I have the balls to say that is because I have been waiting for years for something like this to be developed, so I did it. All I am asking is that you at least take a look at it. I sure you won’t be disapponited. And if you are I would welcome your comments to make it better.
