An actress who co-starred in "Battlestar Galactica" has been tapped for a role in the A&E pilot "Longmire," according to The Hollywood Reporter’s The Live Feed blog.

Katee Sackhoff will play a deputy opposite the Wyoming sheriff played by Robert Taylor, the story says. The drama is from Shephard/Robin Co. and Warner Horizon Television and is based on a book series by Craig Allen Johnson, who is also writing the pilot with Hunt Baldwin and John Coveny, the story notes.
