Cable Sees Surge in Ad Revenue

Cable advertising posted a healthy increase in 2010, according to the Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau, reports B&C.

Ad revenue jumped 12% last year, reaching $27.1 billion, the group reported. National network ad revenue rose 9.6% to $20.5 billion, while local cable revenue surged 20% to $6.6 billion.

The organization noted that original programming on cable networks helped improve the ad sales of national cable channels, while auto and political ads also helped drive growth in 2010, the story says.
