The CW’s supernatural pilot "Heavenly" has tapped both a male lead and a showrunner, reports Deadline.com.

The project has cast British actor Ben Aldridge as a former angel named Dashiel Coffee who has recently become human, the story notes. His character helps an attorney named Lily handle cases at her legal aid clinic.

Separately, Deadline.com reported that Rob Doherty has extended his overall deal at CBS TV Studios for an additional year, and that under the new pact he’ll join "Heavenly" as executive producer and showrunner.

Doherty worked for the previous five seasons on "Medium," leaving as executive producer, the story notes.
