Cartoon Network said it will debut 13 new series during the next year, including a remake of a 1980s classic, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Show Tracker blog.
The rebooted ‘80s show is "ThunderCats," the story says. The network also has a live-action series in the works, "Level Up," about three high schoolers who "open up the world of an online video game into the real world." That series will debut with a 90-minute original movie this fall, the article says.
Along with the new shows the network will roll out a multi-platform block of original programming called "DC Nation," which will be based on the DC Comics library, the story says. It will debut in 2012 with "Green Lantern: The Animated Series."
Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck are also getting refreshed for new viewers, with "The Looney Tunes Show" to debut May 3. The network is also creating a TV version of the movie hit "How to Train Your Dragon," the story notes.
