With NBC’s "Outsourced" considered a long shot for renewal after its ratings have slipped, one of the show’s stars has been cast as the lead in CBS’s untitled Peter Knight comedy pilot, reports Deadline.com.

Ben Rappaport’s casting is in second position to "Outsourced," in which he plays an American sent to India to oversee a call center, according to the story.

Rappaport joins Michelle Trachtenberg in the CBS pilot, about young adults working in a venture capital firm. His character, Danny, is shocked when his fellow trainee, played by Trachtenberg, is promoted out of the mailroom, the story notes. The pilot is from Sony and Happy Madison.
