Donald Sutherland has signed on for NBC’s comedy pilot "My Life as an Experiment," reports Deadline.com.

The story notes that Sutherland will play the father of Stacie, the wife of a journalist who decides to make his life an experiment.

Sutherland’s character is "a highly respected, very accomplished heart surgeon and a pompous, arrogant guy to boot who makes no secret of his disdain for his writer son-in-law," the story says.

The project is from Sony, Reveille and Jack Black’s Electric Dynamite, the story says.
