A Fox drama that was considered to be on the bubble has been given a season renewal by the network, reports Joe Adalian in New York Magazine’s Vulture blog.

The show is "Fringe," the Friday night drama from J.J. Abrams. As previously reported, several of Fox’s dramas including "Fringe" were considered likely to be cut given the network’s new series such as "Terra Nova" for next season and given ratings that placed them on the bubble.

Asked about the pickup for "Fringe," co-creator Abrams responded in an email, "Whew! And thanks to ‘Fringe’-rs everywhere!!!!," according to the New York Magazine piece.
