The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation handed out its media awards on Saturday, giving out top marks to HBO’s "True Blood" and NBC’s "30 Rock," reports TVGuide.com.

"True Blood" won for outstanding drama series, with the show portraying many gay characters, such as the human Lafayette and the vampire Russell Edgington, the article says. Denis O’Hare, who plays Edgington, accepted the award.

Tina Fey accepted the award for "30 Rock," which won for outstanding individual episode, the story says. The episode, called "Klaus & Greta," had Liz Lemon accidentally outing her cousin during a visit home and featured a guest spot by James Franco.
