The landmark home of KCET-TV in Los Angeles may become the newest piece of property owned by the Church of Scientology, reports the Los Angeles Times’ ShowTracker blog.

The station, planning to move its operations to a smaller base, is in talks with the Church of Scientology to sell the property, which has an assessed value of $14.1 million, the article says.

The station’s headquarters are currently located on 4.5 acres on Sunset Boulevard, and station officials have been looking at smaller properties.

Since KCET left the PBS family at the start of the year, ratings for the station have plunged without public-television staples such as "NewsHour," the story adds.
