Challenging Time Warner Cable’s new application for Apple’s iPad that allows viewers to stream channels over the device, News Corp.’s Fox Networks Group told the cable operator to stop the service, saying it’s not authorized, reports Bloomberg.

News Corp. is joining Scripps in challenging the service, the story notes, adding that News Corp. sent a letter to Time Warner Cable asking the cable company to stop providing the channels.

According to the article, Time Warner Cable, though, said the app continues to be available and to function the same way as when it debuted. Time Warner Cable is arguing that there is no difference between an iPad and a portable TV, because the iPad app only works within a viewer’s home.
