A necklace that actress Lindsay Lohan is charged with stealing from a Venice, Calif., jewelry store will be put up for auction, TMZ.com reported.

The jewelry store confirmed the report, with a representative for the store, Kamofle and Co., saying, "We have decided to sell the diamond necklace through auction, and give the proceeds to charity."

The rep added that the store will hold off on the auction until after the felony theft case against Lohan is resolved.

The story notes that the necklace, which has been valued at $2,500, is now being held as evidence in the case.
