Netflix Offers Credit After Streaming Service Is Hit by Outage

For customers who were hit by a streaming outage on Netflix Tuesday night, the company is offering a 3% credit on its $7.99-per-month streaming-only plan, reports PCMag.com.

The story notes that if all of Netflix’s 20 million customers take advantage of the refund, that would work out to $4.6 million, although it’s unlikely that all of Netflix’s customer base was affected.

The offer is valid for seven days and the company is sending out emails to tell customers how to apply the credit, which works out to about 23 cents, to their next bills. Netflix blamed the problem, which lasted at least an hour and 40 minutes, on a technical issue, but didn’t provide more details, the article adds.
