Two influential Hollywood executives may be stepping down from Hulu’s board, giving Chief Executive Jason Kilar more freedom to run the business, reports the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog.

News Corp. Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey and Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Robert Iger may give up their board seats, the story says.

The story notes that Hulu’s owners–News Corp., Disney and NBCUniversal–are concerned that the site’s popularity is hurting the value of TV shows. Hulu declined to comment on the report.

The story adds that the board has been bogged down over issues about the site’s operation, such as how much to charge for its subscription service, Hulu Plus.
