A former producer of CBS’s "Survivor," who has been accused of killing his wife while on vacation in Cancun, may be tried for the crime in Mexico, reports the AP.

The producer is Bruce Beresford-Redman. "The U.S. Department of Justice issued a 45-page brief on Monday requesting that Beresford-Redman be extradited to a Mexican courtroom,” the story reports. “While Beresford-Redman has been in jail, his attorneys are fighting the extradition. Both sides will meet in court for a May 16 hearing in Los Angeles."

The body of Monica Beresford-Redman, Bruce’s 41-year-old spouse, was discovered in a Cancun water treatment pump April 8. The story explains, "An autopsy was performed and it showed that the wife had been hit on the head and asphyxiated prior to being put in the water."
