Good Friend to Have: Donald Trump May Help Richard Hatch With His IRS Debt To Get Him Out of Prison

In order to get Richard Hatch back for the rest of the run of NBC’s "Celebrity Apprentice," host Donald Trump imight be willing to help pay off his IRS debt, reports People magazine.

"On Monday, the Providence Journal reported that Hatch surrendered himself to U.S. marshals to commence a nine-month prison sentence for failing to pay taxes on the $1 million he won on CBS’s ‘Survivor,’" the story notes.

People spoke with Trump, who told the publication, "It sounds like a very tough predicament. I may ask him if there’s anything I can do. … I may get involved and ask him what the hell is going on."

The article explains that while Hatch was not liked by his fellow celebs on "Celebrity Apprentice," he was admired as a strong competitor. For that reason, Trump would consider helping Hatch with his debt. It’s "something I’d think about,” said Trump. “He’s been a great character on the show."
