CBS to Renew Sitcom

While speculation swirls around the fate of CBS’s “Two and a Half Men” in the wake of Charlie Sheen’s high-profile exit from the show, the network has quietly decided to renew one of its other sitcoms, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS is bringing back "Rules of Engagement," a comedy starring David Spade that has moved around the network’s schedule during its five seasons, according to the story.

While the show has proved a solid ratings earner, averaging about 8.5 million viewers this season, it hasn’t snagged the type of buzz that "Big Bang Theory" has, the story points out. In February, the comedy moved from a Monday time slot to Thursdays behind "Big Bang Theory."

CBS will unveil its new schedule May 18.

  1. I think the perfect replacement is the crazy uncle who shows up. The actor: Danny Bonaduce! Think it would be an easy fit into 2 1/2! Sometime Bonaduce is so “wacky”, they could rename it 2 1/4 Men!
