Dish Network said its new customers will receive three months’ free service from Blockbuster By Mail, a subscription movie service that competes with Netflix, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The plan is one of the synergies Dish had planned when it bought Blockbuster out of bankruptcy last month for $228 million, the story says.

Separately, Chief Executive Joe Clayton said he expects the company to make more acquisitions as Dish creates a "new video model" to compete with other pay-TV operators and Netflix, reports the Associated Press.

Clayton was named CEO on Monday and will take over day-to-day management of the company.
