CBS News has hired the co-creator and one of the original executive producers of the MSNBC show “Morning Joe” as VP of programming, Deadline.com reports.

Chris Licht begins the new job June 6.

Said CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager: "Chris is one of the most talented producers in this business, and it is great for CBS News that he is joining us. He will be a significant partner in improving our existing broadcasts and developing new ones."

Licht worked on MSNBC’s “Scarborough Country” before joining host Joe Scarborough to launch “Morning Joe.”
