Fox Romps to Another Big Ratings Win

With “American Idol” leading the way, Fox had another big night in the ratings Thursday night, TVbytheNumbers.com reported.

Fox won the 18-49 demo easily, averaging a 4.8 rating for the night to CBS’s 2.7, ABC’s 2.4 and NBC’s 1.9. In total viewers, Fox averaged 16.3 million to 11.5 million for CBS, 7.4 million for ABC and 3.9 million for NBC.

At 8 p.m. "Idol" logged a mean score of 6.25 in the 18-49 demographic, while CBS’s "The Big Bang Theory" and "Rules of Engagement" had a 3.2 and a 2.3, respectively. ABC’s "Wipeout" managed only a 1.7 in the 18-49 demo, and NBC’s "Community" collected a 1.4 in the same demo for the top of the hour. CW’s "The Vampire Diaries" netted an average of 1.35 in the 18-49 demo for the hour.

At 9 p.m. "Bones" averaged a 3.35 in the 18-49 demo, up against NBC’s "The Office" and "Parks & Recreation" with a 3.2 and a 2.4, respectively. ABC’s "Grey’s Anatomy" had a 3.15 average for the hour, but CBS’s "CSI" lagged with a 2.55 average in the 18-49 demo. CW’s "Nikita" was last with a 0.7.

CBS’s "The Mentalist" topped the 10 p.m. hour with a 2.65 average in the 18-49 demo, while ABC’s "Private Practice" averaged a 2.3. NBC’s "Parks & Recreation" and "Outsourced" earned a 2.0 and a 1.5, respectively, in the 18-49 demo.
