Grammy and Emmy Winner Joins Al Pacino in HBO Film About Phil Spector

A Grammy and Emmy Award winner has been cast to play opposite Al Pacino in HBO’s movie about Phil Spector, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Bette Midler joins Pacino, who will play the controversial record producer in the project, the story notes. Midler’s character is Linda Kenney Baden, a defense attorney who represented Spector during his first trial for murder.

Jeffrey Tambor of "Arrested Development" will play Bruce Cutler, an attorney on Spector’s defense team. The project is written and directed by Academy Award nominee David Mamet, the piece notes.
