Lifetime Unveils Programming Slate for 2011-12, Including Two New Scripted Dramas

Lifetime today rolled out a programming slate for 2011-12 featuring an aggressive lineup of originals, including two new scripted dramas. The network also announced pickups of 11 unscripted shows.

The new dramas are “The Protector,” starring Ally Walker and Tisha Campbell-Martin; and “Against the Wall,” starring Rachael Carpani, Treat Williams and Kathy Baker, which will premiere in the summer.

The network also announced it is renewing “Army Wives” for a sixth season, and “Drop Dead Diva” will return June 19 for its third season.

Lifetime has also ordered a drama pilot, “Modern Love.”

Unscripted programs being picked up include “Project Runway All-Stars,” “Project Accessory,” “The Conversation” (from Demi Moore and Amanda de Cadenet), “Love Handles” (from producer Sallyann Salsano), “Roseanne’s Nuts,” “The Tracey Gold Project” and “Dance Moms.”

“Project Runway” will return for season nine in summer 2011, the network announced.
