NBA Playoffs Score Record Ratings for TNT

The first round of the NBA playoffs delivered record-setting viewership numbers for TNT, reports Multichannel News. TNT averaged 4.18 million viewers and a 2.7 U.S. household rating over the course of 23 games, up 32% in viewers and 29% in household rating from 2010.

In the 18-49 demographic, viewership was up 37% over last year, climbing to an average of 2.4 million viewers.

The strong numbers for the playoffs follow TNT’s highest-rated regular season in the network’s 27 years televising the NBA. The network’s 52 regular-season games averaged a 1.6 U.S. household rating, up 45% from 2009-10 (1.1 average).
